a day in the life of a diva/dork

So I've been meaning to blog for the longest time but... I keep finding other things to do since writing is not one of my favorite creative endeavors. It's one of the things I push to the back burner. With that said I do however like the way this blog allows me to share parts of my life with family and friends who don't live here by me. So this year for christmas Aaron and I got each other a new couch...LOL Dang it!!!!! I"m officially a grown up now. CRAP... how did that happen? Anyway we really love the new sectional it's so comfy and soft. It has recliners on both ends so it's very nice I can sit back on one end and read a book or mag with the little light the bends over me and the Big A can watch tv in the almost dark like he likes. It's a win win!! The curtains in the background I found at Pier 1 but I'm going to find a Red sash kinda thing for over the top and hanging down on the sides. The big green pillow will be covered as soon as I find the right color of fabric. I'm looking for a red. The color scheme will be Tan , chocolate brown, Red and A hint of Gold . For the last couple of months our cat Ozzie had been losing weight. We took him to the vet and they checked him out and couldn't find anything wrong so we took him home. There were times when he seemed to be getting better...but I guess really he wasn't. The last week or so it was plain that he wasn't gonna make it. In hindsight I suppose we should've made the choice a week or more ago...but I guess we just hoped he'd pull out of it. This morning when we woke up and realized he couldn't even jump up on the bed we made the choice to put him to sleep. It was so hard and sad and just....horrible. Aaron and I have cried alot today and will always love him but I'm sure he's up in kitty heaven pickin' his favorite Fridge to sit on and he's probably pickin' out an angel or 2 to sleep by.(He'll probably sleep right between to pillows like he did with us) Rest well my little boy I'll always love you,I'll never forget you and I miss you s...

This week has been full of winter-ee weather!! Last weekend we had a ton of ice!! It was beautiful but slippery!!!! I went out in the yard and snapped a few pictures. This one is of our neighbors bird feeder that is sorta in our yard. I thought it was too cute how the ice hung off of it all icicle like. LOL That was the 1st part of the week now starting last night we got snow!!! WOOHOO I LOVE LOVE LOVE SNOW!!!!! I do ...but Aaron doe s NOT!!!! It's one of the short list of things that he and I disagree on. But even so he still came out with me today to get a few snow pictures :) Yea!!! He's the BEST!!! Well... I still say Let it s now!! I've been very inspired by all things colorful and bold... But while loving the idea of oil painting and such I by nature can't really be comfortable trying to create a Realistic piece. So as I was visiting Elsie Flannigan's blog and then her Flickr site it hit me... I shouldn't even try to do realistic things with paint I should just stick with the cartoon-ish and whimsical things!!!Because those things flow out of me without having to learn a whole new style. Well then I went into my Room of goodness(otherwise known as my scrapping/craftroom)LOL and I got some acrylic pain ts and sketched a quick drawing then got down to it... this is what I made today....
